Second Opinion Consent

Understanding Your Second Opinion:

The doctors providing second opinions through our platform are located outside the United States and may not be subject to the same regulations and standards as your primary care physician.
Their medical advice and treatment recommendations may differ from those of your primary doctor due to variations in medical practices and regulations in different countries.
The second opinion you receive is NOT a substitute for your primary doctor’s care. You WILL DISCUSS the second opinion with your primary/local doctor before making any decisions about your treatment.

Information Sharing and Risks:

To facilitate your second opinion, we will need to share your PHI with the international doctor. This information may include your medical history, test results, and diagnostic images.

Sharing your PHI with doctors outside the US may carry additional risks compared to sharing it within the US, such as:

Limited privacy protections: The laws and regulations protecting your PHI in the doctor’s country may be weaker than HIPAA.
Language barriers: Effective communication between you and the international doctor may be challenging due to language differences.

Your Responsibilities:

You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide us about your medical condition.
You understand that the international doctor’s opinion is based on the information you provide and may not be complete or accurate.
You agree to discuss the second opinion with your primary doctor and follow their guidance regarding your treatment.
You are responsible for any costs associated with the second opinion service.

Acceptance and Right to Withdraw:

By using this service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Notice and agree to its terms. You have the right to withdraw your consent to us sharing your PHI with the international doctor at any time before the second opinion is provided.
